Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world — but caught early, melanoma is highly treatable. Our skin cancer doctor Dr Dipankar Chakraborty performs comprehensive full-body dermatoscopy, with on-site biopsy, excision and surgical repair (including flaps and grafts) all under one roof at our Cranbourne West clinic.

Book with Dipankar →Anyone over 20 with fair skin, a family history of melanoma, or significant sun exposure. People with many moles or previous skin cancer should be checked every 6 months. Older adults benefit from annual checks regardless.
The skin examination consultation is bulk-billed. Some procedures (specific dressings, larger excision materials) attract a small private fee — Dr Chakraborty will discuss costs upfront before any procedure.
Most simple excisions take 30–60 minutes including local anaesthetic. Larger or complex repairs (flaps/grafts) may need a longer slot. All done on-site — no hospital required.
BCC (basal cell carcinoma) is the most common, slow-growing and rarely spreads. SCC (squamous cell carcinoma) is more aggressive but still highly treatable when caught early. Melanoma is the most serious, but caught early it's curable. Annual checks find them all early.
Children rarely get melanoma but anyone with new, changing or unusual moles should be checked. Bring them along when you have your own visit.
Photos lack the depth needed for diagnosis — a dermatoscope is essential. Book a 15-minute spot check if you're worried about one specific lesion.
