Frequently Asked

Ear Syringing — your questions answered

Should I use drops first?

Yes — ear drops 5–7 days before significantly improve outcomes and reduce discomfort.

How often can I have iron infusions?

Usually every 3–6 months as needed, monitored by your GP through ferritin levels.

Are iron infusions safe in pregnancy?

Yes — they're commonly given in late pregnancy and postnatally for low iron.

Will an iron infusion stain my skin?

Modern formulations (Ferinject) rarely stain. We use careful technique to minimise the risk.

Can I drive home after the infusion?

Yes — most patients drive home. We observe you for 30 minutes after the infusion to ensure no reaction.
