Frequently Asked

Podiatry — your questions answered

Do you bulk bill?

With a GP Management Plan (chronic disease) you can have up to 5 bulk-billed sessions per year. Otherwise private fee applies.

Do I need a referral?

No referral needed for private appointments. Bring orthotics if you have them.

Are orthotics covered by health insurance?

Most extras cover at least partial rebate — check with your fund.

How long do orthotics last?

Custom orthotics typically last 2–3 years for adults, 1 year for children (as feet grow).

Can you help with plantar fasciitis?

Yes — one of the most common reasons for podiatry visits. Treatment includes orthotics, stretching, footwear advice and sometimes shockwave therapy.
